Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MirrorTranslator ("the Service"), operated at mirrortranslator.com. By registering an account or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

MirrorTranslator is a real-time voice translation application that enables face-to-face communication between people who speak different languages. The Service uses AI-powered speech recognition (Google Cloud STT) and machine translation (OpenAI / OpenRouter) to transcribe and translate spoken language in real-time.

3. Account Registration

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
• You must provide a valid, accurate email address
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

4. Tokens & Usage

MirrorTranslator uses a token-based system to measure and bill translation usage:

• New accounts receive 300 free tokens upon registration
• Tokens are consumed based on translation duration, billed in 15-second increments (e.g., 1–15 seconds of speech costs 15 tokens)
• Unused tokens do not expire unless the account is terminated
• Tokens are non-refundable and non-transferable except as required by applicable law
• We reserve the right to modify the token pricing model with 14 days notice to registered users

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must NOT:

• Use the Service to translate, transmit, or facilitate any illegal, harmful, abusive, threatening, defamatory, or hateful content
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the Service or its API
• Create multiple accounts to exploit free token promotions
• Use automated tools or bots to interact with the Service
• Attempt to circumvent account authentication or security measures
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Use the Service to violate any applicable local, national, or international law

6. Translation Accuracy Disclaimer

We are not responsible for any consequences, losses, or damages resulting from reliance on translations produced by the Service.

7. Service Availability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may:

• Temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or technical issues
• Permanently discontinue any feature or the Service itself with reasonable notice
• Modify features and pricing at any time with prior notice to users

8. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the MirrorTranslator application — including but not limited to code, design, trademarks, logos, and user interface — are owned by or licensed to the operator. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the application or its components
• Use our trademarks or branding without prior written permission
• Create derivative works based on the Service

9. User Content

You retain ownership of any spoken content that you translate using the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your audio and text solely for the purpose of delivering the translation service. We do not store or re-use your content for any other purpose.

10. Privacy

Our use of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to our data practices as described therein.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at our discretion, including but not limited to cases of:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent or abusive behavior
• Non-payment of purchased services

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at mirrortranslator@gmail.com. Upon termination, your tokens and account data will be deleted.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
• Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 3 months preceding the claim
• We are not liable for any translation errors that result in financial loss, personal injury, or any other harm

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MirrorTranslator and its operators from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify registered users by email with at least 14 days notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes come into effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator resides. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if unresolved, through the courts of competent jurisdiction in the operator's location.
