We believe privacy is a right, not a feature. MirrorTranslator is designed to process your speech in real-time without storing its content on our servers.

1. Who We Are

2. What We Collect

We collect the minimum necessary data to operate the service:

Account data: email address, name, chosen language
Usage data: token balance, session count, account creation date
Technical data: IP address (for abuse prevention), browser type, device type

3. What We Do NOT Collect

🔒 We do not store the content of your translations or voice recordings. All speech is processed in real-time and discarded immediately. Your conversations remain private.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties
We do not build advertising profiles
We do not store payment information (we use third-party payment processors)

4. How We Use Your Data

To authenticate you and maintain your account securely
To track your token balance and usage
To send transactional emails (verification codes, password resets)
To prevent fraud and abuse of the service
To improve service reliability and performance

5. Third-Party Services

MirrorTranslator uses the following third-party services to deliver its core functionality:

Google Cloud Speech-to-Text (Chirp 3): Processes voice audio for transcription. Audio is sent to Google's servers for real-time recognition and is not retained after processing. Governed by Google Cloud Privacy Notice.
OpenAI / OpenRouter: Processes transcribed text for translation. Text is not retained after generating the translation. Governed by OpenAI Privacy Policy.
Brevo (Sendinblue): Sends transactional emails. Your email address is stored in their system to enable email delivery. Governed by Brevo Privacy Policy.
Railway (hosting): Application hosting and infrastructure provider. Governed by Railway Privacy Policy.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser localStorage (not cookies) to store:

Your session token (to keep you logged in)
Your language and display preferences (font size, colors)

We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. You can clear localStorage at any time through your browser settings, which will log you out.

7. Data Security

Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes — mathematically impossible to reverse
All data is transmitted over HTTPS / WSS (encrypted connections)
Your database is hosted on Railway with SSL-enforced connections
Access to the database is restricted to application servers only

8. Data Retention & Your Rights

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
Correction: Update your name or email through the Account screen
Deletion: Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data
Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format

9. Children's Privacy

MirrorTranslator is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Contact us at mirrortranslator@gmail.com to report any such case.

Your data may be processed in various countries where our service providers (Google, OpenAI, Railway) operate. By using our service, you consent to such transfers.
